Bill Walker was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Walker's earliest roles were in film, including "The Killers" (1946) with Burt Lancaster, "Canon City" (1948) and the adventure "Bomba on Panther Island" (1949) with Johnny Sheffield. Biography

Bill Walker was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Walker's earliest roles were in film, including "The Killers" (1946) with Burt Lancaster, "Canon City" (1948) and the adventure "Bomba on Panther Island" (1949) with Johnny Sheffield. He also appeared in "Bad Boy" (1949), "Sand" (1949) and the Gary Cooper drama "Bright Leaf" (1950). He kept working in film throughout the fifties, starring in the Richard Egan dramatic adaptation "The View From Pompey's Head" (1955), the Robert Wagner drama "A Kiss Before Dying" (1956) and "Everything But the Truth" (1956) with Maureen O'Hara. He also appeared in "You Can't Run Away From It" (1956). In the latter half of his career, he tackled roles in "Tick, Tick, Tick" (1970), the adaptation "The Great White Hope" (1970) with James Earl Jones and the comedy "Big Jake" (1971) with John Wayne. He also appeared in the drama "Maurie" (1973) with Bernie Casey and "The Choirboys" (1977). Walker last appeared in "The Real McTeague: A Synthesis of Forms" (PBS, 1992-93). Walker's husband was Peggy Cartwright. Walker passed away in January 1992 at the age of 96.
